Wet n Stick Installation Instructions
- A temperature of 45 degrees should be maintained to install Wet n Stick joint tape.
- Install wallboard so that the edges contact each other. Do not force boards into place. Any gaps greater than 3/16" (4mm) need to be pre-filled prior to installing Wet n Stick joint tape.
- Fasteners shall be set with the heads slightly below the wallboard surface without breaking the face paper.
- Completely immerse Wet n Stick joint taped in clean water to active the adhesive.
- Once Wet n Stick has been thoroughly wet and placed over the wallboard joint, immediately take your thumb and trace the joint, then use your hand to smooth out the tape taking care to assure complete contact with wallboard surface, especially on tapered edges. If full contact does not occur, a blister may result. Simply take a saturated sponge and remoisten, then smooth the affected area.
- When installing Wet n Stick tape into an inside corner, take special care to make sure the pressed tape is completely into the angle before smoothing the edges. Pre-creasing the tape prior to installation will aid in making sure the apex correctly aligned.
- Climate conditions effect drying time, most cases using Wet n Stick, a first coat of joint compound takes place in the same day.
- As Wet n Stick is drying, it shrinks in unison with the wallboard paper; while at the same time the activated adhesive blends into the face paper, complete once dry.
